Born in Chile, Ricardo went to school both in Santiago and in London. He then studied Agronomic Engineering and Oenology at Chile's Catholic University.

Ricardo worked in oenological duties at Charles Krug Winery in Napa Valley, Chateau Branaire-Ducru and then worked for three years as the head of the development department of Chile's biggest supplier for the Wine Industry.

Since 2000, Ricardo has worked with his family as Viña Maquis' Managing Director and has been instrumental in building a portfolio of Chilean vineyards that can rival the finest terroirs in the world.
