Ricardo Rivadeneira Hurtado
Managing Director and Winemaker
Ricardo attended school both in London and Santiago, Chile where he studied Agronomic Engineering and Oenology. Ricardo has worked in oenological duties at Charles Krug Winery in Napa Valley, Chateau Branaire-Ducru and then worked for three years as the head of the development department of Chile's biggest supplier for the Wine Industry. Ricardo joined his family in 2000 to act as Managing Director at Viña Maquis and has been instrumental in building a portfolio of Chilean vineyards that can rival the finest terroirs in the world. Juan Alejandro Jofré
Chief Winemaker
Juan Alejandro has served as winemaker at Vina Maquis since 2003, where he has played an important role in the development of Maquis Lien. Juan has worked at several prestigious wineries throughout the world, including
Villa Maria Estate in Marlborough, New Zealand,
Torrecorcos Wines in Duero, Spain and Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates in California, USA. Juan's experience working with different regions has assisted in his understanding of the unique terroir in Colchagua Valley.
Xavier Choné
Wine and Viticulture Consultant
Xavier Choné is an international terroir and wine consultant based in Bordeaux. His work demonstrates that 'terroir' can be seen as a practical concept used to analyze soil and climate conditions. With this approach, he develops and manages vineyards throughout the world in order to achieve fine, elegant and profitable wine. His expertise aims at developing the vineyard as a "terroir" and maximizing the terroir effect in order to produce the most distinctive and elegant wine. View complete biography.
